Works as a Developer
This space is a work in progress...
I have been enjoying learning about Digital Signal Processing and it's applications within the music technology space. I have mainly done tinkering - making fun audio effects for personal use - but this year I have finished my first fully realised guitar pedal effect: RATES.

RATES - Randomised-Rate Vibrato and Delay Effect for Guitar - 2025
Developer
I have been working on a DSP-based guitar effect pedal this year as part of my third year major project, which will be displayed at Exposure. I wanted to explore an interesting take on a vibrato effect by adding randomness to the otherwise steady rate of modulation, as well as incorporating a slapback delay feature that channels 50’s-60’s guitar sounds. I have worked on multiple prototypes throughout the year and the idea has only become more refined. The effect is programmed using Plugdata - a modular coding environment for audio processing - and compiles to a Daisy Seed 16-bit microprocessor. This experience has been very challenging - given my limited programming and hardware design experience - but rewarding nonetheless, and I’m sure I will explore this field more in the future.
