Recording music has been my favourite pastime since I got my first audio interface when I was 14 years old. I began by recording myself playing guitar or bass and had a go at making my first songs. Since then, I my interest in recording has blossomed and I have been lucky to have the opportunity to work on a number of musical projects - both for my own music and for other bands in Wellington.
Macho Macho - Climb a Tree/What’s the Worst That Could Happen? Single - 2019

This double single release marked my first time recording a band. I found this experience incredibly challenging and rewarding - it kickstarted my interest in being an audio engineer. The independently released singles did well on streaming platforms and across the Student Radio Network.
Birdcage - Too Much Time on Your Hands EP - 2022

This EP was recorded almost entirely using analog production equipment - the whole band was tracked live in a room playing together through a 1970s mixing console. This approach was experimental by modern standards, given that the standard method to recording music is meticulous and perfection-driven. It was this back-to-basics approach that gave this record its trademark grit.
Blunt Dog - How is a Dog So Honest? Album - 2023

Blunt Dog’s first album. The band got in contact with me to record their album in 2022. We recorded it in the laundry room of my flat at the time over the span of a few months. The album’s single Eshy Biang Biang gained local attention from the Student Radio Network, and the song rain day out was featured on the global platform NTS Radio.
Sleeping Village - Three Mallard Ducks Album - 2024

This record was a huge accomplishment as it was a massive undertaking for me at the time. I pushed myself hard through the recording process to achieve the best result possible and learned a lot along the way. The album was recorded between three different flats and the Massey University Studios over the course of 2023-2024.

I was approached to master Maiden Name’s first EP, recorded by Arran Cargill-Brown, in 2024. I am currently working on another release for the band.
